Amanda Renteria is the CEO of Code for America. Previously, she served as the chief of operations at the California Department of Justice, as national political director for Hillary Clinton's 2016 presidential campaign, and as chief of staff to U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow, becoming the first Latina to hold that position in the U.S. Senate. She was a candidate for Congress in 2014 and for governor of California in 2018. Earlier in her career, she served as a budget analyst for the city of San Jose, Calif. She holds degrees from Stanford University and the Harvard Business School and serves on several nonprofit boards.
