Dominic Sims is the chief executive officer of the International Code Council, a nonprofit association that provides a wide range of building-safety solutions including product evaluation, accreditation, certification, codification and training. During his 18-year tenure with the council, Sims has also served as its chief operating officer and senior vice president.
Previously, Sims served as the CEO of the Southern Building Code Congress International and guided its consolidation with two other regional code organizations that formed the International Code Council in 2003. Earlier, he was executive director of the Palm Beach County, Fla., Planning, Zoning and Building Department.
