Jack Kammer is a social worker and advocate for gender diversity in social services. From 1983 to 1989, he hosted "In a Man's Shoes," a weekly radio talk show in Baltimore. Discussions of gender bias in social services by the show's guests and callers led him to enroll in a dual social work/business administration master's degree program at the University of Maryland, which he completed in 2008.
Kammer worked for a year as a correctional officer at the infamous Baltimore City jail, a year as a parole and probation officer in central Baltimore, and a year as a trainer and consultant with the National Fatherhood Initiative. He has presented workshops on anti-male bias at seven state and national social-work conferences.
