James White is a senior associate, clinical advisor and Global Health Security practice lead for the International Development Division of Rockville, Md.-based Abt Associates, a research, consulting and technology firm. His specialties include infectious disease, brokering public-private partnerships for national and community-level health service delivery, and strengthening the quality of clinical services in public and private health. He has worked on a broad range of global projects for international aid funders such as the U.S. Agency for International Development, Britain's Department for International Development and the Canadian International Development Association, all with the goal of improving health outcomes.

A Ph.D. candidate in nursing and global public health at the University of Toronto, White holds an M.S. in international development management from the London School of Economics and bachelor's degrees in nursing science and international development studies from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.
