Former Vermont Gov. Jim Douglas serves on the board of directors of The Hunt Institute, which aims to mobilize strategic action to transform public education, and is a member of the advisory board for the Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellows program. He is an executive in residence at Middlebury College.
Douglas, a Republican, was first elected as Vermont's governor in 2002 and served four two-year terms. Previously, he served as state treasurer, secretary of state and majority leader of the state House of Representatives. He is a former chairman of the National Governors Association and former president of the Council of State Governments.
