John A. Costa

John A. Costa is the international president of the Amalgamated Transit Union, which is the largest transit union in North America representing transit and school bus workers. Before being elected international president in September 2019, he served as an international vice president at the union, as chair of ATU's New Jersey State Council, and as president of ATU Local 819 in Newark. He is currently a board member for Jobs to Move America. He also previously served as vice president of the executive board of the New Jersey AFL-CIO and vice president of the Essex-West Hudson Labor Council.
