Julie Thuy Underwood, assistant city manager of Daly City, Calif., previously served as city manager of Shoreline, Wash., and assistant to the city manager of Rockville, Md.
An International City/County Management Association credentialed manager, Underwood received her master's degree in public administration and policy from Virginia Tech and her bachelor's degree in government and politics from George Mason University.
She has served on the boards of the Washington City/County Management Association and other public-management focused associations, and is a member of the Emerging Local Government Leaders Network, Women Leading Government, the California City Management Foundation and the Municipal Management Association of Northern California.
