Rick Snyder, a Republican, is serving his second term as governor of Michigan and is co-chair of the National Governors Association Resource Center for State Cybersecurity. He was honored by Governing in 2014 as one of the magazine's Public Officials of the Year.
In his business career, Snyder was a partner at the accounting firm Coopers & Lybrand, president and chief operating officer of the computer-maker Gateway and co-founder of an Ann Arbor, Mich.-based venture-capital firm. He holds bachelor's, MBA and law degrees from the University of Michigan.
