Ronald C. Fisher is a professor of economics at Michigan State University, where he specializes in the study of state and local government finance and taxation. He is the author of the leading textbook in the field, State and Local Public Finance, and has written more than 100 professional articles, research reports and books on public finance topics.
Previously, Fisher served as deputy treasurer for the state of Michigan, as research economist for the U.S. Advisory Commission on Intergovernmental Relations and as a visiting scholar at the Boston Federal Reserve Bank. He also has served as a consultant to a number of federal agencies, many state governments and the Lincoln Institute of Land Policy.
