Sam Taylor is the deputy city manager for Morro Bay, Calif., with oversight for communications, economic development and the divisions of Recreation Services and Information Technology. He is a member of the Emerging Local Government Leaders leadership team.
A former journalist at newspapers in Idaho and Washington state, Taylor began his career in local government with the city of Ferndale, Wash., first as the city clerk and community information officer and then as assistant city administrator. He will graduate with a master's degree in public administration from Kent State University in August 2015.
