Sharman Haley is an affiliate professor at the University of Washington's Evans School of Public Policy and Governance. She retired in 2011 as a professor of economics and public administration at the University of Alaska at Anchorage, where her research interests centered on human development and well-being in Arctic communities.
From 1976 to 1985, Haley worked as a policy analyst for Alaska's legislative and executive branches. She did her undergraduate work at Radcliffe College and received a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley.
