Terry Gerton is president and CEO of the National Academy of Public Administration and a Fellow of the National Academy. In addition to 20 years of service as an active-duty U.S. Army officer in a variety of staff and leadership positions, she was for 12 years a member of the federal Senior Executive Service, serving most recently as the deputy assistant secretary for policy for the Department of Labor's Veterans’ Employment and Training Service. Her service was recognized with both the Distinguished and the Meritorious Presidential Rank Awards. She also spent two years as a vice president at the Cohen Group, a Washington, D.C., consulting company. A graduate of the U.S. Military Academy, she earned her MBA from Duke University
