Trooper Sanders is the CEO of Benefits Data Trust, a nonprofit that uses data, technology, policy change and direct service to help people tap the more than $80 billion in unclaimed benefits that support critical needs such as food security, health care and broadband. He has held White House policy staff positions during two administrations and served as the Clinton Foundation’s domestic policy adviser. More recently, he completed a fellowship at the Rockefeller Foundation where he led a project to identify opportunities to ensure that artificial intelligence improves social and economic equity. He currently serves on the National Artificial Intelligence Advisory Committee, a body established by Congress to advise the president on national AI efforts. He is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations, serves on the national board of Girl Scouts of the USA, and on the Military Family Research Institute's advisory board. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Michigan and holds master's degrees from the London School of Economics and the University of London.
