Greg Useem is the chief performance officer for the city of Alexandria, Va. He joined the city in 2012 and has been responsible for improving service delivery through measurement and analysis. Before coming to Alexandria, he served as director of budget and policy for Wake County, N.C., and in Prince George's County, Md., as the planning and accountability officer.
A regular contributor on data and analysis topics for professional organizations, Useem earned his bachelor's degree in political science and history from Lynchburg College and his master's degree in public administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
