What is Memphis proposing?
Memphis is looking to refine its purchasing policies and practices to further existing efforts to increase the participation of minority and women-owned business enterprises in city contracting. Participation in the City Accelerator will allow the city to develop and implement innovative solutions that build upon its work to ease the process of starting a new business and lower the barriers to entry for small businesses that work with the city. Lessons learned from the cohort could lead to a multi-jurisdictional procurement strategy that leverages economies of scale and increases opportunity.

Public response is one of several criteria being used by the City Accelerator to select cohort cities. The number of ratings or comments by themselves do not determine final status or selection.
