What is Chicago proposing?
Chicago is looking to level the playing field for small and minority-owned businesses to give them greater access to the thousands of procurement opportunities awarded by the city every year. The City Accelerator would enable the city to put long-term recommendations for a Procurement Reform Task Force of 60 government and nonprofit leaders into effect that will increase transparency, reduce administrative burdens, and lower the barriers to entry for local business into practice. The City of Chicago is particularly focused on developing a single point of entry through a uniform multi-jurisdictional procurement system.

Public response is one of several criteria being used by the City Accelerator to select cohort cities. The number of ratings or comments by themselves do not determine final status or selection.
