The approximate population of Paradise, Calif., five years after the deadly Camp Fire destroyed about 90 percent of the town’s structures on Nov. 8, 2018; prior to the fire, the town had 26,000 residents. The fire killed 85 people, easily surpassing the previous record for the state’s deadliest fire, which was a 1933 blaze that killed 29.
