The minimum age for new Uber drivers in California, after the ride-share company determined the rising costs of commercial auto insurance in the state required the age increase. Previously anyone as young as 19 years old could sign up to be a driver. The new rule only applies to those signing up to transport passengers and not those delivering food with Uber Eats.
