The pay hikes that some postdoctoral scholars and academic researchers at the University of California would receive in the tentative labor agreement between the university system and the United Auto Workers Local 5810. The union said the deal was a major victory and would provide "substantial wage increases that address cost of living," but the scholars and researchers will remain on strike in solidarity with the approximately 36,000 UC graduate student workers that are still seeking an agreement.
