Christopher F. Koller, president of the Milbank Memorial Fund, apologizing for its role in the Tuskegee syphilis study, which was revealed 50 years ago. The foundation covered the funeral expenses for the hundreds of Black men in Alabama who were left to die so that government researchers could study the impacts of syphilis.
