The proportion of young men in the U.S. who show behavior that indicates a gambling problem, compared to just 3 percent of the general population.

According to a nine-question severity index, 24 percent of men reported at least one problematic gambling behavior, and that rate rose to 45 percent for men 30 years old and under. Individuals are generally considered to have a problem if they have a score of 8 or above on the Problem Gambling Severity Index.
