The number of states that have a minimum wage of $15 per hour or more. The federal minimum wage of $7.25 has not changed since 2009, the longest period without an increase since Congress set a national minimum wage in 1938. A total of 30 states and the District of Columbia now have minimum wages higher than the federal floor.
