The total planned spending for Halloween this year, a decrease of $600 million from last year, which amounts to about $104 per person of the 72 percent of Americans that plan to celebrate the holiday. Of that spending, $3.8 billion will be spent on both costumes and decorations and $3.5 billion will be used to purchase candy.
