The proportion of earnings from children employed as content creators that will be deposited in a trust for when they turn 18 years old, as mandated by new California regulations.
The new law also entitles child influencers to a percentage of earnings based on how often they appear on video blogs or online content that generates at least 10 cents per view. The existing state laws protected children working in movies and TV but did not extend to minors making their names on platforms such as TikTok or Instagram.
