The number of tickets that were issued from Friday, May 24, through Monday, May 27, on the New York State Thruway amid a major crackdown on dangerous, drunk and distracted driving. The number included 563 tickets for speeding and 68 tickets for distracted driving. Across New York, 10,949 tickets were issued over Memorial Day Weekend.
