The number of birds that have died so far this fall after flying into the windows of Chicago’s McCormick Place, a lakefront convention center that has a glass exterior.
The facility has unveiled new bird-safe window film on one of its glass buildings along Lake Michigan to protect the birds. Last year, 1,000 migrating birds died on a single night after flying into the convention center’s glass exterior, which prompted the $1.2 million bird-friendly project.
