The number of bills filed in the 50 state legislatures during the 2023-24 sessions. New York led the way with 24,284 bills, with more than 10,000 bills apiece introduced in Massachusetts, Texas, Illinois, Minnesota and Oklahoma. At the lower end of the scale were Alaska, with 812 bills, and the Dakotas and Wyoming introducing just a bit more than 1,000 apiece.
