“If I had started a little bit earlier, I would have been able to have six Bob Fergusons,” says longtime Republican activist Glen Morgan of his prank, “I just ran out of time.” Bob Watson Ferguson, the state’s attorney general who is the leading Democrat for his party’s nomination for governor, sent cease-and-desist letters to the other two Bobs, pointing out that attempting to confuse voters with similarly named candidates has been against state law for 81 years. They withdrew.
