The approximate total value of grants to arts organizations that were vetoed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis. Although arts funding is often cut, the state had never zeroed them out entirely. Arts organizations that had planned on receiving funds, which had been approved by legislators, said they would have to cut public events and other programming. DeSantis vetoed a total of $950 million from the state’s $116.5 billion budget for the fiscal year beginning on July 1.
