The number of school districts the ACLU of Texas says are in violation of the state’sCROWN Act, which prohibits schools, workplaces and housing authorities from discriminating against hairstyles historically associated with race such as dreadlocks, cornrows or afros. It was signed into law last year after receiving overwhelming support from the state Legislature.
