Information sharing and analysis are growing priorities for Los Angeles County, says CIO Rich Sanchez. In an interview during Government Technology’s Los Angeles Digital Government Summit, Sanchez said the county’s 34 departments are becoming more collaborative, which opens the door to more information exchange between business units. Ultimately, the county intends to aggregate that data and use analytics tools to help managers and department executives make better decisions. One challenge, says Sanchez, is recruiting data scientists who can help the county draw intelligence from the mountain of data it collects.
